Cleaning is not an afterthought to the evening. Done well, it takes five minutes and removes any reason to think about hygiene again.

Before and after, every time

Warm water and a pH-neutral cleanser, worked over the whole surface, then rinsed and air-dried on a lint-free cloth. Avoid alcohol, which dulls silicone, and avoid boiling anything with a motor in it.

• Use water-based lubricant with silicone; oils degrade the surface.
• Dry fully before storing — moisture is the actual problem, not soap.
• Store pieces separately, so surfaces are not pressed together for weeks.

Charging and storage

Magnetic contacts should be dry and clean. A lined pouch protects the finish and keeps dust off the seams.
